Aku lagi buat sarapan untuk anakku, menuang air panas dan susu, tiba-tiba aku ngrasa ada suara-suara gemeretak disekelilingku, sebelumnya aku sudah pernah merasakan suara-suara gemuruh seperti ini, dalam pikiranku sudah mengerti kalau ini gempa, aku spontan berlari ke kamar anakku dimana dia masih tidur. Aku peluk dia dan melindungi kepalanya dengan kedua tanganku, aku nggak tau kenapa gempa kali ini susah membuatku untuk berlari keluar, karena lantai begitu bergelombang, kusen jendela miring-miring, dalam pikiranku berlari keluar pun mungkin akan menimbulkan masalah untuk anakku, aku lihat banyak kaca-kaca gelas berserakkan di lantai, sesungguhnya aku nggak mengerti kapan kaca-kaca itu pecah karena begitu galaunya suasana.
Rumahku sekitar 40 km dari kota Bantul (kota terparah akibat gempa), aku nggak bisa membayangkan bagaimana luluh lantaknya mereka disana, sedangkan disini saja aku nggak bisa berlari.
