sitelinks

A considerable portion of my consulting time has recently revolved around the optmization of corporate blogs (or the addition of blogs to revamped sites). As usual, I find a pattern emerging in the strategies that need attention and the pitfalls that must be avoided. So, rather than charging $400 an hour to give advice on the subject, I thought it would be valuable to share many of the most common pieces of advice here on the blog (business part of Rand fights with open source Rand, but loses, as usual). Content Rich Creativity

December 31st, 2006

We have all heard the term content-rich, but what does content rich really mean?
Content rich means different things for different individuals, because what one person finds useful, another may not. Content rich is all about providing information that is considered valuable to your target audience. Information that visitors might find useful could consist of product or industry facts, statistics, reviews, tutorials, or educational information related to a specific industry.

You don’t have to be an MBA-accredited author by any means. However, there are some rules to play by, and I’ll break those out below. We will talk about the top blogs, practicalities around blogs and creative ways to get started, including how you could possibly ruin your good-standing ranking and having to change your Search Engine Optimization strategy.

Aku nggak tau nih, boleh nggak diungkapkan ..tapi sebenernya dengan membeli 1 paket AS saja, nantinya kita bisa membuat bermacam2 situs AS dengan beda-beda niche…tentu saja bagian artikelnya diganti dengan artikel2 yang sesuai niche baru itu. Jadi nggak perlu tiap bulan beli paket AS.

Sirik comment seperti di blog sebelah, get lost please .. :) >-

How To Build An Authority Site

September 24th, 2006

As Web 2.0 becomes less of a buzz word and more of a reality, the types of sites webmasters need to publish will increasingly become more important. In other words, mini-sites are slowly dying and cookie-cutter article sites are on the way out as well. Web surfers will become more value-focused and web companies will become largër.

Over the next few years expect largër conglomerates to be buying up profitable websites in their chosen markets. Expect smaller sites to either be bought or driven out of business. My intention is not to scare you, but this outcome is inevitable.
Large businesses have always taken two approaches to their desired markets. They either buy their competition or they push them out of business. You want to be prepared when this trend begins on the internet.

One of the biggest reasons people visit websites is to get information. If you can regularly provide fresh, quality content on your website you can expect to be rewarded by visitors and return visitors. What’s more, you will be rewarded by the search engines. I recommend that you add new and original content to your site as often as possible, ideally once a day.

  • Regularly adding fresh and original content:
  • Keeps your site visitors coming back
  • Continually adds value to your website
  • Makes people more comfortable buying from your site
  • Establishes yourself as an authority in your industry
  • Greatly helps your site rank higher in search engines

All of the above factors translate into revenue.
We all know how hard adding original and fresh content is, especially if you’re the business owner. You have to be original, creative, organized, thoughtful and motivated, and above all, able to write. So what’s a website owner or business owner supposed to do? RSS may be the answer.

I already post this before but until then Tagging, Pinging and Social Bookmarking still confusing many ..
okay let’s review again … :)

So, What Is Social Bookmarking ?

Social bookmarking is utilizing a web service, where users create a
public repository of bookmarks pertaining to sites that they like.

The concept of social bookmarking dates back to 1996 with the launch of
itList.com, followed by services like Blink and Hotlinks and many more.
But, the popularity of Social Bookmarking increased with the advent of
the most popular bookmarking site till date, del.icio.us.

Social bookmarking sites organize their content using tags. Social
bookmarking sites are an increasingly popular way to locate, classify,
rank, and share Internet resources through the practice of tagging and
inferences drawn from grouping and analysis of tags.
